March 4, 2020- The 2020 Celtic Connection will take place this Saturday, March 7th at the Boston Marriott Newton to raise awareness and funds for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Come out to support the 12th annual Building Friends for a Cure event while celebrating Irish heritage and St. Patrick’s Day with friends and family. Wear your favorite green attire and enjoy a traditional Irish dinner of delicious corned beef and cabbage. Live music will be performed by “Hogan’s Goat” and Irish step performances by students at The Harney Academy of Irish Dance. Feeling lucky? Guests can also bid on the silent auction and can participate in the Pot ‘O Gold 50/50 Raffle.
A highlight of each year’s event is the presentation of the Shillelagh Award. The Shillelagh is a traditional Celtic weapon associated with Ireland, and the award symbolizes the battle that Alpha-1 doctors, researchers, and leadership wage against Alpha-1. We can’t wait to announce this year’s awardee.
